This is a road rally organised by Somerset Advanced Motorcyclists (SAM) which involves plotting a route throughout the South West Peninsula. It will require some navigational skills, mental dexterity and observational ability, but above all, it is designed to be an enjoyable event for all Riders on two or three wheels. 

The object of this South West Peninsula Spring Rally is to complete various stages, collecting answers to clues on your travels. These answers and points decide the award achieved.

Gold Award​ - approx 400 miles
  • Gold Award entrants must sign on at The Potting Shed between 08.00 and 10.00 on Saturday 1st April and visit a total of 15 (no more or less) of the unmanned daytime checkpoints and 3 of the 4 manned checkpoints.

  • Entrants must sign in at The Potting Shed between 17.00 and 23:59 on Saturday 1st April to complete the rally. 

Silver Award​ - approx 300 miles
  • Silver Award entrants must sign on at The Potting Shed between 08.00 and 10.00 on Saturday 1st April and visit a total of 12 (no more or less) of the unmanned daytime checkpoints and 2 of the 4 manned checkpoints.

  • Entrants must sign in at The Potting Shed between 17.00 and 23:59 on Saturday 1st April to complete the rally. 

Bronze Award​ - approx 150 miles
  • Bronze Award entrants must sign on at The Potting Shed between 08.00 and 10.00 on Saturday 1st April and visit a total of 9 (no more or less) of the unmanned daytime checkpoints and 1 of the 4 manned checkpoints.

  • Entrants must sign in at The Potting Shed between 17.00 and 23:59 on Saturday 1st April to complete the rally.  

Land's End Award

This award is supplementary to all other ones above. To achieve the Land's End Award you must do the following:

  • Complete the Gold Award, which is 3 manned checkpoints and 15 unmanned checkpoints.

  • PLEASE NOTE IN ADDITION to the Gold Award requirements you must visit Lands End. The Land's End stamp cannot count as one of your 3 manned checkpoints and 15 unmanned checkpoints for the Gold Award.

  • Have your Control Card stamped by the Land's End Hotel as confirmation you visited Land's End.
